Fitting for our drive across La Mancha.
Shopping in Andorra at the liquor and grocery market
As much as I love not using our dryer, I fear losing clothing or pins three stories up.
I guess I wouldn't be the first.
We went to an exhibit today on life under Franco. My in-laws remember that time fondly. They were employed and able to raise a large family comfortably. It likely felt peaceful and safe after war and scarcity. But life was far more complicated for lots of others. At the exhibit there was description of a Seccíon Femenina branch of the Falange showing propaganda for on how women live a good Catholic life. The advice ranged from faking pleasure during sex to learning how to be quiet and not waste your husband's hard earned money. My MIL says the realty was they taught more practical skills

You must think you are protected by the gods if this is your uniform for battle
From afar, I thought this tree was dropping tennis balls

Elon has no good angel whispering in his ear?
Allegedly Valencians are called mig ou, or half egg, because after they have spent their money on showing the world how rich they are (like by installing their fancy tile upside down so that passers by can see it from below), they can only afford to eat half an egg for dinner (seen in Segunt)
Some differences between seeing basketball in Valencia vs. the US:
no alcohol is permitted in the stadium
people bring in their own food to eat
At night places you never notice magically appear
Official languages #3 and 4 of Valencia (the later more so after the wine)
Is that a jacket or una mochilla?

How cute is that? And why isn't that child in school on a Friday morning?
There is some awesome fashion in Valencia. I look down a lot to avoid stepping in dog crap and see a lot of amazing footwear. You can't guess the age of the person wearing the shoes. I am frequently shocked when I see fun/funky/hip shoes (and clothes) paired with a face that appears >70.
The narrowest building in Spain at 107 cm
Toddler shoes for March
There's a reason these don't do delivery to my house in CA
Either (a) they are wrong or (b) this is an ode to Magritte

Allison had brought books over for us to peruse and these were two that I devoured while recovering from a respiratory yucky thing - the price on Chocolat ~ 1.696 ptas o 10,19€ (still working on my Spanish language book, these were a break)

Love, love, love seeing the uniformed kids on their way to school in the morning; the two toddlers in our building who go to Xicotets in their checked shorts and polos are amazing!
